Miles Away LLC is an independent travel advisor. We design trips, recommend suppliers, and coordinate logistics — but the travel services themselves are provided by third parties. This disclaimer explains the limits of our role and the risks inherent in travel.
1. Independent contractors and suppliers
Airlines, hotels, cruise lines, tour operators, drivers, guides, restaurants, and other providers used in your itinerary are independent contractors. Miles Away does not own, operate, or control them. Their services are subject to their own terms and conditions, which take precedence over any informal guidance we provide.
2. Force majeure and events outside our control
We are not liable for delays, cancellations, missed connections, injury, loss, expense, or any other damage arising from events outside our reasonable control. These include but are not limited to:
- Weather, natural disasters, wildfires, volcanic activity, earthquakes.
- Strikes, labor disputes, civil unrest, war, terrorism.
- Government action, border closures, quarantine, pandemic-related restrictions.
- Supplier insolvency, schedule changes, mechanical failures.
- Theft, loss, or damage to personal property.
3. Health, safety, and entry requirements
You are responsible for confirming that you are physically fit to travel and for meeting all health, vaccination, visa, and entry requirements for every country in your itinerary. We recommend consulting your physician and the U.S. State Department's travel advisories before booking.
4. Travel insurance
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, trip interruption, medical care abroad, medical evacuation, and baggage. If you choose to travel without insurance, you accept full financial responsibility for losses that insurance would have covered.
5. Pricing and availability
Quoted pricing is based on rates and availability at the time of the quote and is not guaranteed until paid and confirmed by the supplier. Currency fluctuations, fuel surcharges, taxes, and resort fees may change before departure.
6. Accuracy of information
We make reasonable efforts to share accurate destination information, but conditions change. Information on the Miles Away website and in our communications is provided as general guidance and should not be relied on as legal, medical, or safety advice.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Miles Away's total liability for any claim arising out of or related to a trip is limited to the planning fees you paid Miles Away for that engagement. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.
